2016 Teen Summit “Keep It 100″

Nac in Action: Teen SummitNac in Action: Teen SummitNac in Action: Teen SummitNac in Action: Teen SummitNac in Action: Teen SummitNac in Action: Teen SummitNac in Action: Teen SummitNac in Action: Teen SummitNac in Action: Teen SummitOn Saturday,  April 30. 2016, the Brown Family Health Center’s Nac In Action Coalition held it’s 4th Annual Teen Summit at the Boys & Girls Club in Nacogdoches.  The theme this year is “Keep It 100″ a term our teen’s use to mean “keep it real”.   We had a blast at this year’s event as we discussed real issues pertaining to teens, abstinence, HIV/AIDS/STD’s, teen pregnancy and condom use.  We look forward to building it bigger and better next year as we take this “grass-root” event to all of Deep East Texas.   We want to send out a special “Thank You” to all our teen participants and volunteers for making this event a success.  We had awesome presenters, panelists and facilitators:  Ms. Karen Cooper, Executive Director of the Brown Family Health Center, Mrs. Detrick Stegall, Mrs. Tonya Coutee with BFHC, Ms. Sha’Terra Fairley-Johnson with the HIV Resource Group, Ms. Quinn Runnels and Mr. Joshua Moore with the Family Crisis Center, Mrs. Yolanda Tatum and Ms. Essie Garrett with BFHC, Ms. Tarska Duffield with LISD, Mr. Jose Anson with the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council of East Texas, Mrs. Sheki Perkins and Ms. Angela Tatum, Ms. Shelia Woodard with DETCOG, and Mr. D.C.
