On Friday, April 29, 2016, the Board and Staff of the now Brown Family Health Center held an “Open House” to showcase the new exam wing of the Dr. Wilbert Brown, Jr. Health Center.  This event was open to the public from 1-3:00 p.m.   Representatives from the chamber and other community partners were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony and walk through.  Over 101 individuals were given a personal tour of the recently constructed wing.  This wing includes 6 new exam rooms, 2 offices, equipment room  and restroom.   During this event, Pastor Newton and members of the Westminster Presbyterian church presented a check to Ms. Karen Cooper, BFHC ‘s Executive Director.  We take this opportunity to again publicly thank them.  We also want to thank our community for your support.  It is our endeavor to serve our community with care and compassion as we look to the future of Healthcare.

Services provided include the management of acute and chronic illnesses, minor surgical procedures, preventative care services, school and sports physicals and women’s health.  BFHC is proud to offer quality service, caring providers, and compassionate support staff. Competitive prices, cash lab, and clinic services, with walk-ins-welcome are also part of the many services that BFHC offers. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday’s 8:00am to 12 Noon. Prevention hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Description of Job

A biller must be responsible for entering and coding patient services into a computer system and generating invoices to be sent to the patient. Sorts and files paperwork, handles insurance claims, and preforms collection duties. (Part time and Full time positions available)

Medical Case Management consists of services that help clients gain access to needed medical, social, and other services. This includes direct assistance in gaining access to services, coordination of care and oversight of the client’s case. Case Management includes: (1) assessment of clients to determine service needs; (2) development of an individualized care plan; (3) referrals and related activities to help the client obtain needed services; (4) monitoring and follow-up; and (5) evaluation.

Education/Certification Requirement

Licensed Bachelor of Social Work (Master’s Degree preferred), or a degree in Health, Human, or Education Services, and one year of case management experience with persons living with HIV and/or persons with a history of mental illness, homelessness, or chemical dependence.
